Our Alternative Provision to Traditional Education
We provide a flexible, person-centred alternative provision to traditional education for learners aged 16+ who need a different approach. Our evidence-based My Aspiring Evolution model, aligned with the Preparing for Adulthood (PfA) framework, offers structured support and meaningful progression across key life areas.
We support learners with special educational needs, learning difficulties, or physical disabilities, creating personalised programmes that adapt to individual strengths and challenges. Our AP environment is designed to build essential skills, increase confidence, and help every learner thrive through a supportive, tailored pathway.
My Aspiring Model
The “My Aspiring Model” translates the four PfA headings into actionable targets for individual improvement.
- Community – Services, Relationships (Personal and Social), General Knowledge and Current Affairs
- Health – Hydration and Nutrition and Mental Health and Well-Being
- Independent Living – Hygiene, Safety, Finance and managing a Household
- Employment – Communication, Literacy and Numeracy, Employment, Protected Characteristics, Social Enterprise and volunteering opportunities.
Measuring Progression & Personalised Support
Every learner begins with a baseline assessment using our My Aspiring Model, helping us identify key areas for development from day one. Progress is monitored continuously and formally reviewed every three months, ensuring support remains personalised, measurable, and transparent. Updates are shared with parents, carers, and relevant agencies so everyone stays involved in the learner’s journey.
Implementing Individual Targets:
Targets are embedded into daily activities and adapted to each learner’s needs, both within our day centres and in their wider environments. This approach ensures learners build practical, meaningful skills that transfer into everyday life.
Qualifications & Enrichment:
We help learners develop confidence, independence, and real-world skills through:
- AQA Unit Award: Recognising achievement and building motivation through accessible, personalised learning modules.
- Duke of Edinburgh Award: Fully supported across our sites, open to all abilities, encouraging teamwork, resilience, and personal growth.
- John Muir Award: Engaging with nature, developing outdoor skills, and building environmental awareness.
